The first album by Magnanimus Trio, A Cue was recorded back in 2010, when the group first met in Thessaloniki, Greece. It offers a testament to the first steps of the trio’s imaginative, atmospheric and melodic music-making based in deep listening and nearly telepathic interplay. Previously unreleased, it is now available in a new re-mastered edition.
While the two next albums of Magnanimus trio, Still Time (2012) and No Time (2016) contain compositions by the members of the group as well as improvisations, A Cue contains an hour of fully improvised music recorded in an unique recording session by Yannis Mavridis in Cue Productions Studio, that also gave the name to the album. Το πρώτο άλμπουμ των Magnanimus Trio, A Cue, ηχογραφήθηκε το 2010, όταν το γκρουπ πρωτοσυναντήθηκε στη Θεσσαλονίκη. Πρόκειται για μια μαρτυρία από κοντά, στα πρώτα βήματα της δημιουργικής πορείας του τρίο. Οι συνθέσεις δημιουργούνται σε ζωντανό χρόνο, γεμάτες ποιητικότητα, φαντασία και μια ανεξάντλητη ποικιλία υφών, φέροντας στην επιφάνεια ένα κοινό λεξιλόγιο μεταξύ των μουσικών που στηρίζεται στην στενή ακρόαση και την σχεδόν τηλεπαθητική αλληλεπίδραση. Προηγουμένως ακυκλοφόρητο, είναι τώρα διαθέσιμο σε μια νέα re-mastered έκδοση.
Ενώ τα δύο επόμενα άλμπουμ του trio, Still Time (2012) και No Time (2016) περιέχουν συνθέσεις από τα μέλη του γκρουπ καθώς και αυτοσχεδιασμούς, το A Cue περιέχει μια ώρα πλήρως αυτοσχέδιας μουσική, ηχογραφημένη σε ένα μόνο απόγευμα από τον Γιάννη Μαυρίδη στο Cue Productions Studio, απ’ όπου πήρε το όνομα του και ο δίσκος. To A Cue θα είναι διαθέσιμο για ακρόαση και ψηφιακή αγορά στην σελίδα του τρίο στο Bandcamp στις 15 Νοέμβρη:
